Ltd., ranking consistently as one of the top hundred companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is itself an icon in the arena of diversified business enterprises such as Automobiles, Heavy Equipment, Road Construction, Chemicals, Food stuffs, Electrical Contracting,Trading etc.
Omega Company for Luminaires, Poles & Galvanizing is one such pioneering Division in the field of steel pole and out-door lighting manufacturing industries. Established in the year 1982, envisioned to serve the domestic requirements, soon established its foot hold and transformed into a major exporter. It is strongly supported by professional team of high profile management and excellent work force. Company is located in the New Industrial Area, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Accredited with ISO-9001:2008 certification, it is one of the biggest factories in the Middle East for the deisgning, manufacturing and supply of steel lighting poles, transmission poles, highmasts and their related accessories, complimented with its own galvanizing plant, lighting fixtures, floodlighting, industrial, tunnel and garden lighting. Following is the brief description, outlining the categorized range of products, with an emphasis on :- I. Steel Poles : Different types of hot dip galvanized steel poles, ranging from a height of 1 to 35 Metre, used for various applications, such as street lighting, stadia lighting and over-head power transmission lines, highway lighting, are manufactured, which not only requires an overall comprehensively coordinated efforts, but also advanced softwares, sophiscated machenaries. I. Octagonal or Round Conical poles, used mainly for street lighting and distribution network, are assembled from one or more sections, fabricated from trapezoidal steeel sheets, by press-folding and then sub-merged arc welding longitudinally, forming a smoooth continuous weld, followed by hot dip galvanizing. 2. Stepped Poles are made from suitable quality of steel pipes, using a unique method hot-swaged joint, which are watertight where the complete pole maintains strength over its entire length. Once the joints are forged, fabricated pole is subjected to galvanizing. 3. Polygonal Highmasts from 8 Metre height and over, optionally available with raising and lowering devices are normally used for lighting Expressways, Stadia, Harbours, big open parking lots etc. The Highmast is an assembly of 2-4 shafts joined together by means of pressure over-lapping, section per section, rendering firm grip and are joined by telescopic slings. II. Out-Door Lighting Fixtures : Various categories of light fixtures, depending upon their applications, such as street lighting, industrials lighting, floodlighting and garden/decorative lightings are produced . Designing luminaires for streetlighting becomes a delicate and difficult matter, where aesthetics and ergonomics meet with technique and functionality. These characteristics are even more essential when the goal is streetlighting in order to make a synthesis of both disciplines. Streetlighting fittings have become an integral part of our cities’ street furniture, to recreate new urban environment with non-aggressive shapes lighting fittings improving photometric results. Many an intrinsic factors are taken into consideration right from the designing and production stages, so as to achieve the desired results with regard to performance, obtaining an optimum photometric results, easy installation and maintenance with minimal accessories. III. Galvanization : The protection of the poles against corrosion due to environmental and climatic conditions is obtained by hot dip galvanizing. It is the most efficieint and economical way of protecting steel against corrosion and is quite long lasting. Galvanizing process is carried out after complete manufacturing of the pole, which is obtained by dipping poles into a zinc bath at an approximate temperature of 452C after several stages of treatment processes, consisting of degreasing, rinsing, pickling, fluxing and drying. Hot dip bath gives a uniform coating of zinc, internally and externally, thus protecting the metal in a complete form. IV. Quality Control : Quality Control is one of the most important departments, which acts as an independent regulabtory bodie to achieve high quality standards. Various tests and procedures are adopted right from the procuring stages of raw material, to storing, fabrication, galvanizing, dressing and dispatch. Material at each stage is scrutinized, visual inspection limits sub-standard workmanship and laboratory tests are carrried out to ensure welding quality, galvanizing effectivenss, dimensional measurements, coating thicknesses. Poles are even rig tests to check deflection under load and also to breaking point, if necessary. Lighting fixture accessories are well examined and rigoursly tested, ingress protection against intrusion of foreign particles, dust and water is thoroughly check. |
